Anti-corruption agency adds two staff to counter cyber threats

The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission said it is adding two Grade 6 officials to rapidly respond to personal data breaches and cyber attacks on government information systems.

One new position focuses on personal information protection duties, while the other handles information security tasks. The increase brings the agency's total headcount to 507, with general staff rising from 497 to 499 under a revised enforcement rule. Within the general staff category, the number of officials holding specific inspector titles increased from 148 to 150.

The revision also extends the tenure of one added position until November 30, 2028, pushing back the previous expiration date of November 30, 2026. The commission cited the need to utilize the total wage bill system to maintain this capacity beyond the original limit.

The amended rule took effect immediately upon its promulgation on August 28.
