Corrections

If we got it wrong, tell us. Here is how, and how quickly we respond.

What you can ask for

Under the Korean Act on Press Arbitration you may request a correction (the report states something untrue), a reply (you dispute the report and want your account published), or a follow-up report (a criminal matter we reported has since ended in acquittal or its equivalent).

Deadlines

  • We tell you whether we accept the request within three days.
  • If accepted, the correction is published within seven days.
  • You must file within three months of learning of the report, and within six months of publication.

How to file

Write to the publisher at [email protected]. Include the article URL, the passage in question, why you say it is wrong, and the wording you would like published. Give us a way to reach you.

You may also apply directly to the Press Arbitration Commission, or bring a court action, instead of or in addition to writing to us.

What we publish

We do not silently overwrite articles. A corrected article keeps its history: what changed, when and why is recorded and shown on the article.

How articles are produced in the first place is set out in how this newsroom works. Responsibility for everything we publish rests with the publisher.
