Justice ministry adds three staff to counter cyber threats

The justice ministry said it is increasing its staffing levels to respond swiftly to personal data breaches and cyberattacks on government information systems.

Under the revised rules, the ministry will hire one official at the fourth or fifth grade level for personal data protection tasks and two additional staff members at the fifth and sixth grades to manage information security operations. The changes follow a recent amendment to the parent decree that authorized the personnel expansion to address rising risks of data leakage and cyber intrusion.

The amendment to the Enforcement Rules of the Ministry of Justice and Its Subordinate Organizations took effect upon promulgation on August 28, raising the total number of general service personnel from 744 to 747. Specific rank allocations were adjusted to accommodate the new hires, with the count of computer affairs officers increasing from nine to ten, senior computer inspectors growing by one to reach thirteen, and positions combining science and technology roles rising from two to three.
