Justice ministry adds three staff to handle data security risks
The Ministry of Justice and 35 other agencies are increasing personnel to counter cyber threats driven by artificial intelligence and cloud expansion.
The justice ministry said Friday it will increase its workforce by three employees to strengthen defenses against personal data leaks and cyber intrusions.
Under a presidential decree effective August 28, 2026, the ministry will add one official dedicated to personal information protection and two specialists for general information security. The adjustment raises the total authorized staffing level from 781 to 784, with the new hires comprising one Grade 4 or 5 official for privacy duties, and one Grade 5 and one Grade 6 official for security tasks.
The revisions to the Ministry of Justice and Its Attached Organizations Decree were enacted to rapidly respond to growing risks of personal data breaches and cyberattacks on government systems. These threats have intensified due to the deepening use of artificial intelligence, the spread of cloud computing, and the transition to a platform economy, which have collectively increased the volume of high-risk personal data processing.
This staffing boost is part of a broader legislative effort revising 36 separate laws governing various state bodies.
