Korea Aerospace Administration adds three staff to handle data security

The Korea Aerospace Administration said it is adding three staff members to strengthen its response to personal data leaks and cyber intrusions, bringing total headcount to 248.

Two of the new positions will support the National Space Committee, which operates under the president, while one role focuses on internal privacy protection duties. The changes take effect August 28, 2026, as part of a partial revision to the agency's organizational rules issued by the Ministry of Science and ICT.

The revision adjusts job classifications to improve personnel management efficiency, adding industrial research officials to grades five and six staffing quotas while replacing some existing administrative and technical roles. Specifically, the ministry added one grade-six official for privacy tasks and two staff members—a grade-five and a grade-six official—to aid the presidential committee.

Additionally, the agency converted eight positions at its Space Environment Center into multi-track roles for more flexible deployment of grade-six officials, reclassified a single ninth-grade position and reduced the number of driving clerks by one.
