Personnel management ministry to absorb hiring-system staff as temporary digital unit closes
A presidential decree abolishes the government's temporary digital personnel office and shifts its recruitment-system duties to the talent recruitment bureau, adding one post to the ministry's payroll.

The personnel management ministry will take over the development and operation of the government's civil-service recruitment computer systems after a temporary digital unit is abolished at the end of its term, according to a presidential decree issued Tuesday.
The decree abolishes the Government Personnel Digital Promotion Officer, a temporary organisation set up inside the ministry, and transfers its recruitment-system functions to the ministry's talent recruitment bureau.
The change also drops one division from the list of organisations subject to performance evaluation, following evaluation results.
Under the revised staffing table attached to the decree, the ministry's authorised headcount rises to 421 from 420, with the general-service total increasing to 420 from 419 and posts at Grade 3, Grade 4 or below rising to 394 from 393.
The revision amends the rules governing the ministry and its affiliated agencies. It will take effect on Jan. 1, 2027, except for one revised table that took effect on the day of its promulgation, Sept. 29.
The decree was signed by President Lee Jae-myung and countersigned by Prime Minister Han Seong-sook as well as Interior Minister Yoon Ho-jung, whose ministry shares jurisdiction over the rules.
