Game rating committee assigns 15-plus rating to new adventure title

The Game Rating and Administration Committee said Thursday it has assigned a 15-and-older rating to the adventure video game titled The Death God Princess and the Monster of the Library. The decision, made on April 30, restricts access to the title due to its depiction of realistic horror and psychological instability.

The committee determined the restriction was necessary because characters, sound effects and other elements create a realistically expressed atmosphere of psychological unease, tension and fear. Clouded Leopard Entertainment Inc. applied for the rating to distribute the Korean version of the title, originally developed by Nippon Ichi Software. The company handles localization and distribution of games from Japanese developers like Nippon Ichi for the Asian market and cooperates with Gamepia for package distribution in Korea.

The game follows the journey of a protagonist named Mono searching for her sister, who vanished into a library after contracting a plague known as the death god disease. Described as an adventure that breaks fairy tales, the software will be released on Nintendo Switch, Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 platforms. Package editions are priced at 66,700 won for the Switch versions and 74,100 won for the PlayStation 5 edition.
