Game Rating Committee bars teens from Once Human over violence
The regulator assigned the highest age restriction to the upcoming open-world survival title from NetEase.
The Game Rating and Administration Committee said it has classified the online adventure game Once Human as unsuitable for teenagers due to violent content. The decision, recorded in a filing dated April 9, assigns the title a rating of 'youth inaccessible'.
Developed by China's NetEase Inc. for PC and online platforms, the post-apocalyptic survival game received the restrictive classification based on excessive violence. The rationale for the designation was detailed in the committee's public second-quarter rating decision document.
Once Human is an open-world survival title set in a future following an apocalypse. While the developer maintains an official Korean website indicating preparations for a domestic launch, the new rating establishes the age barrier for local players.
