The environment ministry said it will hold the 2026 Climate-Energy Jobs Fair in Seoul on Aug. 25, bringing about 100 companies and institutions together with young job seekers. The fair is aimed at expanding youth employment in the climate-energy sector and strengthening industry competitiveness.

The event is expected to draw about 1,000 climate-energy job seekers and company representatives. Companies, public enterprises and research institutes will explain hiring plans, offer one-on-one counseling and conduct on-site interviews. Resume reviews and mock interviews will also be available. A jobs meet-up will feature expert employment lectures, recruitment briefings by major companies and presentations on energy workforce development programs.

An Innovation Talent Forum will honor three researchers and 17 students. The ministry, the Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning, local governments and companies will participate in an agreement on training specialists for regional priority industries, including next-generation power, renewable energy and nuclear power, and regional youth job creation.

"Talent is ultimately at the heart of developing new technologies and industries, including renewable energy and next-generation power grids," Oh Il-young, the environment ministry's climate-energy policy director, said. "We will do all we can to foster outstanding talent to lead the green transition and help them find quality jobs."

The ministry will run an online recruitment consultation service at www.saramin.co.kr through Nov. 17 for job seekers unable to attend the fair in person.
