APR posts second-quarter earnings gains
APR reports second-quarter revenue growth.
APR's second-quarter revenue rose 134.2 percent to 768 billion won ($537 million) from 328 billion won ($229 million) a year earlier.
Operating profit climbed 134.5 percent to 191 billion won ($133 million) from 81.3 billion won ($56.9 million), while net income increased 113.4 percent to 142 billion won ($99.1 million) from 66.3 billion won ($46.4 million).
Sales in the cosmetics and beauty division rose 185.5 percent from a year earlier to 648 billion won ($454 million). Strong sales of bestselling products, an expanded range of new product categories and broader global online and offline channels supported the result.
Overseas revenue increased 178 percent to 704 billion won ($493 million), accounting for 92 percent of total sales. Beauty-device revenue rose 24.3 percent to 112 billion won ($78.4 million), supported by stable global demand and the launch of a new product.
"The growth foundation we established mainly in North America is rapidly spreading to new markets including Europe, and our global business has entered a stable growth trajectory," an APR official said. "We plan to sustain growth in overseas markets by strengthening product and brand competitiveness and expanding our global distribution network."
