Bank of Korea sets 24 policy meetings for 2027, eight to decide rates

The Bank of Korea said Thursday its monetary policy board will hold 24 regular meetings in 2027, eight of them rate-setting sessions where the board decides the direction of monetary policy.

Under the schedule, the board meets twice in each month of the year. The rate-setting meetings fall in January, February, April, May, July, August, October and November; the remaining four, devoted to financial stability, are grouped in March, June, September and December. The bank said it will hold eight rate-setting meetings and four financial stability meetings, for the 24 total.

Minutes of both the rate-setting and financial stability meetings will be published on the first Tuesday after two weeks have passed from the meeting date, the same rule the bank has applied until now.

The bank has carved out two exceptions for next year. Minutes of the June and September financial stability meetings will be brought forward so they do not land immediately before the July and October rate-setting meetings. The June 23 session's minutes will be released on July 9, and the Sept. 23 session's on Oct. 8.

The minutes of the December 2026 financial stability meeting will be published on Jan. 8, 2027, the bank said.

The release date for the minutes of the final meeting of 2027, scheduled for Dec. 23, has not been fixed. The bank said it will announce that date together with the schedule for its 2028 regular meetings.
