HD Korea Shipbuilding wins 1.44 trillion won container ship order from HMM
HD Hyundai Samho will build six container ships for HMM in a deal worth 17.8 percent of the shipyard's 2025 revenue.

HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering said Tuesday that its shipbuilding subsidiary HD Hyundai Samho has won a 1.44 trillion won ($1.08 billion) contract to build six container ships for HMM.
The order is equivalent to 17.8 percent of HD Hyundai Samho's revenue of 8.07 trillion won ($6.06 billion) in 2025, calculated on the subsidiary's standalone financial statements for that year.
The deal lands as prices for the largest container ships have eased slightly. The first-half 2026 price for a 23,000 twenty-foot-equivalent-unit vessel was $238 million, a touch below the $244 million quoted in 2024, according to the Financial Supervisory Service's disclosure system.
