Personal Information Protection Commission taps interns for policy content
The regulator will release videos and infographics created by young interns to mark Personal Information Protection Week.

The Personal Information Protection Commission said Wednesday it will roll out a series of policy explanations created by youth interns to make data privacy rules more accessible to the public.
To mark Personal Information Protection Week running from Sept. 28 to Oct. 2, the commission will sequentially publish three pieces of content on its official social media channels: a video titled "Rockstar's Suspicious Invitation: Let's Learn About PIPC Policies Together" and two infographic sets.
The video features the committee mascot, Rockstar, sending an email invitation to an intern who then solves quizzes. The segment concludes with safety messages warning users against clicking links in emails from unidentified sources.
Ahead of the full video release, the agency will distribute an infographic called "A Letter from Rockstar" to build anticipation. A second graphic titled "How to Respond to Personal Information Infringement" will provide practical guidance on steps to take when privacy rights are violated.
Yang Su-yeon, director of the Operation Support Division, said the project holds significance because youth interns directly participated in reshaping how policy achievements are communicated to citizens. She added that the commission plans to discover diverse policies involving interns in the future to create communication content suited to the public's eye level.
