Kim Eun-chul takes helm as Construction Workers Welfare Corp executive

The Construction Workers Welfare and Mutual Aid Association appointed Kim Eun-chul as its new managing director on Monday.

Kim, who previously served as a standing commissioner at the Central Labor Commission under the Ministry of Employment and Labor, officially assumed the role on Sept. 21 with a mandate running through Sept. 20, 2028. The appointment was announced by the ministry.

In his inaugural address, Kim stated that "the sweat and passion of construction workers laboring in harsh environments are invaluable assets that cannot be exchanged for anything else." He pledged to leverage experience gained within the national labor administration to dedicate his efforts toward improving worker welfare and ensuring job security.

Before joining the association, Kim graduated from Yonsei University with a degree in political science and diplomacy. His career includes tenures as the planning and finance officer and the international cooperation officer at the labor ministry prior to his role at the Central Labor Commission.
