Mobiis wins 1.41 billion won ITER fusion control contract

Mobiis said Tuesday it has signed a 1.41 billion won ($1.04 million) contract with the ITER Organization to supply instrumentation and control systems for the international fusion project's plasma disruption mitigation system.

The contract covers work at the ITER facility in France and runs from Tuesday through Sept. 29, 2028, according to a regulatory filing. Payment will be made in installments tied to the progress of the company's assigned scope of work. The total contract value is 1.44 billion won ($1.06 million), or 28.2 percent of the company's revenue.

The award was made through a consortium that includes VERSE EUROPA S.L., with the confirmed amount for Mobiis equivalent to $913,766 and the consortium's total main contract worth $1 million.

Mobiis said it has already secured major orders for EPICS-based central control systems, interlock control systems and precision power supply control systems on the project. "We are participating in the ITER project, the world's first fusion power experiment expected to solve future energy problems, and have won large-scale orders in the EPICS-based central control system, interlock control system and precision power supply control system sectors, gaining recognition for our technology," the company said. The company has previously supplied ITER's disruption mitigation system under a Lot 2 order won on Feb. 10, with a delivery deadline of Feb. 10, 2028, a total order value of 36.5 million won ($26,835), of which 24.4 million won ($17,922) has been delivered.

In the first half of this year, Mobiis reported exports of 472 million won in fusion and other sectors and domestic sales of 972 million won, down from 5.1 billion won a year earlier to 1.44 billion won.
