Kumyang seeks court injunction to halt delisting decision
The fine chemicals maker filed a provisional measure with the Seoul Southern District Court one day after receiving notice of its removal from the stock exchange.
Kumyang said Thursday it has applied for a provisional injunction to suspend the effectiveness of a decision to delist its shares. The filing with the Seoul Southern District Court came on May 21, one day after the ruling was issued.
The producer of foaming agents for synthetic resins and rubber did not disclose specific grounds for the delisting, stating only that it sought judicial intervention to stop the action while the matter is reviewed.
The legal move interrupts a period of improving metrics in the company's core business. In the first quarter of 2026, the average selling price for its foaming agents rose 11.9 percent on-year to 5,617 won per kilogram, driven by strong sales of high value-added products and exchange rate fluctuations.
Foaming agents accounted for 98.07 percent of total sales in the quarter at 17.03 billion won ($11.8 million). Beyond this legacy chemical business, the company has been pushing into new growth areas including lithium hydroxide processing and zirconium additives for secondary batteries.
