Food and drug safety ministry trains Seoul narcotics monitors

The food and drug safety ministry said it will hold joint training for Seoul metropolitan government officials tasked with monitoring medical narcotics on Aug. 28.

Officials plan to share key management points for cracking down on narcotics abuse and provide case-centered education on field monitoring techniques based on inspection results. The Korea Institute of Drug Safety and Risk Management will explain relevant laws and the Narcotics Integrated Management System, detailing how supervisors can use the platform to detect signs of abuse or illegal distribution.

Participants will discuss difficulties encountered during their duties and identify areas requiring further inter-agency cooperation. The ministry has conducted four training sessions this year and plans additional nationwide programs for all narcotics monitoring officials in September and November.
