Korea Coast Guard shifts center locations and adds staff
The agency updated its organizational rules to reflect new district names in Incheon.
The Korea Coast Guard said Friday it revised its internal regulations to relocate three maritime traffic control centers. The changes take effect August 28 to align the agency's structure with recent laws redesignating administrative districts in Incheon.
The revision was prompted by the enactment of laws establishing Jeulpo-gu, Yeongjong-gu, and Geomdan-gu, alongside legislation renaming Seo-gu to Seohae-gu. To address these legal updates, the Incheon Port Maritime Traffic Control Center moves from Jung-gu to Jeulpo-gu, while the Gyeongin Coastal center shifts from Jung-gu to Yeongjong-gu. The Gyeongin Port center also updates its location designation from Seo-gu to Seohae-gu.
The organization will increase its total number of general positions from 519 to 520. This expansion includes raising the count of specific specialists from two to three.
