National Data Office adds legal team and security staff
The agency will operate a temporary legal and complaints unit until 2029 while increasing its total workforce by one.
The National Data Office said Friday it is expanding its internal structure to strengthen legal support. The revision to the agency's organizational rules takes effect on August 28, 2026, and establishes a new Legal and Complaints Team under the Planning and Coordination Office.
The move responds to a presidential decree revising 36 laws to bolster information protection personnel against personal data leaks and cyber intrusions into government information systems. To staff these functions alongside strengthened regulatory reform and civil petition handling, the office will increase its general service positions from 706 to 707, raising the overall headcount to 708.
The new team, which will exist until Aug. 27, 2029 under a total wage bill system, is tasked with reviewing draft laws and administrative appeals, compiling legal codes, and managing the operation of the civil petition center. It will also handle agenda items for State Council and vice-ministerial meetings.
