LS Eco Energy posts 40 percent revenue growth
LS Eco Energy reported higher revenue and profit, citing grid demand in Vietnam and ASEAN and pursuing North American market entry.
LS Eco Energy's revenue rose 40 percent from a year earlier to 350 billion won ($245 million).
Operating profit increased 7 percent to 25.3 billion won ($17.7 million), while net income gained 5.3 percent to 19.1 billion won ($13.4 million).
Ultra-high-voltage cable sales rose 177 percent from a year earlier in the first quarter, supported by global power-grid investment and growing demand from AI data centers.
Vietnam's government is expanding investment in transmission and distribution networks under its eighth National Power Development Plan, or PDP8. Power-grid projects for data centers across the Association of Southeast Asian Nations were presented as a foundation for growth.
LS-VINA recorded first-quarter revenue of 296 billion won ($207 million), while LS Cable & System Vietnam reported 67.7 billion won ($47.4 million).
LS-VINA, a Vietnam production subsidiary, has received quality certification for 230-kilovolt ultra-high-voltage cables that meet CS9 requirements for US power projects.
"We are pursuing high-voltage cable certification for entry into the North American market and will actively respond to surging global demand by increasing LSCV's optical-cable production," Lee Sang-ho said.
