CLASSYS, a maker of aesthetic medical devices, said its second-quarter revenue rose 26.7 percent to 106 billion won ($74.6 million) from 83.3 billion won a year earlier, helped by broad-based overseas growth and a contribution from its South American entity.

The company said growth was spread across major overseas markets including Europe, North America, Thailand and the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Operating profit rose 2.2 percent to 43.9 billion won ($31 million) from 43 billion won a year earlier, while net income fell 3.6 percent to 25.5 billion won ($18 million) from 26.5 billion won.

Ultraformer recorded its highest global quarterly sales, CLASSYS said. Volnewmer maintained high sales, while Quadsays sales expanded and European demand for laser equipment increased. The overseas consumables business grew 32.6 percent from a year earlier as the company expanded its equipment sales base.

Operating margin at CLASSYS headquarters exceeded 50 percent during the second quarter. Consolidated results included overseas operating costs associated with the shift to direct operations in South America and Japan.

“In the second half, we will further strengthen execution on core tasks, including package promotions to strengthen domestic market leadership, as well as simultaneous B2B and B2C marketing to turn around the Latin American business,” a CLASSYS official said.
