S&S Tech reported 66.4 billion won in second-quarter revenue, while first-half operating profit stood 0.8 percent below the year-earlier level.
S&S Tech reported 66.4 billion won in second-quarter revenue in preliminary consolidated results, up 9.5 percent from 60.7 billion won a year earlier and 7.7 percent from the previous quarter, while operating profit reached 13.6 billion won.
Operating profit for the April-to-June period was 19.5 percent higher than the preceding quarter's 11.4 billion won and 2.3 percent above the 13.3 billion won reported in the year-earlier period, the filing showed.
Net income for the April-to-June period came to 12.7 billion won, compared with 10.1 billion won for the corresponding three-month period in 2025, according to the preliminary consolidated results in the filing.
The preliminary consolidated results were disclosed in an Aug. 3 regulatory filing, covering performance from April 1 through June 30 on a consolidated basis. The preceding quarter ran from Jan. 1 through March 31, providing the period used as the basis for the filing's reported sequential comparisons of revenue and operating profit in the preliminary results.
On a cumulative basis for the six months from Jan. 1 through June 30, revenue reached 128.1 billion won, up 8 percent from 118.6 billion won during the corresponding six months of 2025. Operating profit over the same January-to-June period was 25 billion won, down 0.8 percent from 25.2 billion won in the corresponding first six months a year earlier, the filing showed.
First-half net income in the preliminary consolidated results was 26.5 billion won, compared with 22 billion won during the corresponding January-to-June period in 2025, the filing showed.
S&S Tech describes itself in regulatory disclosures as a materials company whose core business is manufacturing and selling blank masks for use in semiconductor and display applications.
During the January-to-March period, first-quarter blank-mask sales totalled 60.2 billion won, according to the company's disclosures on its consolidated business composition for the period. That business represented 97.6 percent of the company's 61.7 billion won in consolidated revenue for the same reported three-month period in 2026.
The company describes blank masks as raw materials for photomasks, which are used to etch circuits onto semiconductor wafers during the semiconductor manufacturing process.
The company says in its disclosures that demand for its blank masks is closely linked to the semiconductor, display and photomask industries that sit downstream from the material in their supply chains.
S&S Tech said it is responding to demand associated with capacity expansion by mature-process foundries in Greater China, where multiple patterning is also becoming more widespread in semiconductor production. The company has cited both mature-process capacity additions and the wider use of multiple patterning in describing blank-mask demand across the Greater China market that it is seeking to address.
It also cited expanding adoption of OLED technology across information technology and automotive applications as a factor increasing demand for high-resolution, high-precision blank masks for those applications, the company said. The company separately identified advances in OLED processing as another factor behind demand for high-resolution, high-precision blank masks used in display manufacturing.
At its Yongin EUV Center, S&S Tech plans to use the facility as a base for entry into the EUV blank-mask value chain. The company said its EUV business plan seeks to maximize growth and profitability through entry into that value chain and use of the center.
S&S Tech said it has entered preparations for mass production, a stage in its effort to pursue an EUV blank-mask business through the Yongin center.
