Posco Holdings reports steady 2025 dividend at 10,000 won

Posco Holdings maintained its per-share dividend for 2025, while its total payout edged lower after treasury-share cancellations reduced the number of outstanding shares.

Posco Holdings said its dividend for 2025 remained at 10,000 won ($7) per share, unchanged from 2024.

Total dividends slipped 0.2 percent to 756 billion won ($529 million), from 757 billion won ($530 million) in 2024. Posco Holdings attributed the decrease to 255,428 fewer shares outstanding after it canceled treasury stock newly acquired through a buyback in August 2024.

The company reported dividend income of 757 billion won ($530 million) for 2024 and put its 2025 dividend payout ratio at 115 percent.

Posco Holdings said it had completed a three-year plan to cancel 6 percent of the treasury shares it held from 2024 through 2026. The shares were retired in stages over the period, completing the cancellation program for the holdings covered by the plan.

The August 2024 cancellation involved shares that had been newly purchased before their retirement. Posco Holdings cited the resulting reduction in outstanding shares as the reason the aggregate dividend amount for 2025 was lower than the prior year's total, despite the unchanged per-share payment.

Posco Holdings operates a policy of immediately canceling newly repurchased treasury shares, except for stock set aside for employee use.
