How to check a product recall in Korea
This guide covers Korean recall notices for electrical, household and children’s products. Food, medicines and vehicle recalls are outside its scope. It does not determine whether a product is safe or covered by a recall.
Have the product label ready
Write down the model and manufacturer or importer shown on the product or packaging. Keep the certification number or barcode handy if present. Do not dismantle the product or test a suspected defect to identify it.
1. Start with the model in the official search
Open Safety Korea’s recall search. Its Korean search options include model (모델명), product (제품명), manufacturer/recall company (제조/리콜업체), barcode (바코드) and certification number (인증번호). Start with the model; try the product or company name if needed. Use recall search, not certification search.
2. Compare your product with the notice
Compare the model and company, not just the product name. Open the detailed notice and compare its photographs and identifying information. Check any manufacturing-period or serial-number restrictions stated there. A similar name or appearance does not establish that your product is covered.
3. Follow that product’s consumer instructions
Read the consumer instructions (소비자행동요령) and recall contact (리콜문의). Stop-use, storage, registration and collection instructions vary by product. Follow any stated stop-use instruction and ask the listed contact about the model and eligibility conditions. Check the notice and company instructions for the remedy and any receipt requirements; do not assume a refund is guaranteed.
Why read the remedy instructions?
The official notice for the YOYO (M) Light Grey speaker says to stop using and charging it, and to keep it without disposing of, selling, transferring or modifying it until further instructions. Those instructions are specific to that product, not a rule for every recall. Read the notice for your own product before deciding what to do.

If there is no result or the match is unclear
No search result is not proof of safety. Recheck the model spelling and company name, and ask the contact in the notice whether your product is covered. If you cannot find a notice, ask the manufacturer or importer whether it has issued a recall announcement. This site does not register a recall claim or collect personal information.
