Bank of Korea chief heads to Bangkok for G20, IMF meetings
Shin Hyun-song will attend the G20 finance ministers and central bank governors' meeting and the IMF-World Bank annual meetings, with stops at an IMF Governor Talks session and a CNN panel.

Bank of Korea Gov. Shin Hyun-song will leave for Bangkok on Oct. 13 to attend the G20 finance ministers and central bank governors' meeting and the IMF-World Bank Group annual meetings, the central bank said, in a trip that runs through Oct. 18.
At the G20 gathering, Shin will exchange views with fellow finance ministers, central bank governors and international financial institution officials on the global economic situation, economic growth and global imbalances. The discussions at the IMF annual meetings that follow will cover the world economic outlook and global financial stability.
Shin will also hold meetings with senior officials from major central banks including the U.S. Federal Reserve and the European Central Bank, as well as from the IMF, to discuss recent international developments and their implications.
On Oct. 13, Shin will take part in the IMF's Governor Talks session, where he is scheduled to discuss monetary policy management in Asia and South Korea against the backdrop of a global artificial intelligence boom and uncertainty linked to the war in the Middle East.
The next day he will join CNN's Global Perspectives as a panelist, in a conversation moderated by Richard Quest alongside Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, director-general of the World Trade Organization, and Bernard Mensah, president of Bank of America International.
Shin is due back in South Korea on Oct. 18.
