Finance ministry sets anti-dumping duties on Thai copper tubes
South Korea will impose anti-dumping duties of 4.93 percent to 8.41 percent on seamless copper tubes imported from Thailand from Sept. 11.
The finance ministry said it will impose anti-dumping duties of 4.93 percent to 8.41 percent on seamless copper tubes imported from Thailand for five years from Sept. 11, citing harm to domestic producers.
An investigation launched last September after Neungwon Metal Industry Co. and LS Metal Co. sought an inquiry found evidence of dumping and material injury to South Korean industry. The ministry said it expects the measure to help the domestic industry recover and create a fairer competitive environment.
The measure covers tubes made of refined copper with outside diameters no greater than 66.68 millimeters and thicknesses between 0.2 millimeters and 2.5 millimeters.
The duties follow provisional tariffs levied from March 30 at 3.64 percent to 8.41 percent. Hong Kong Hailiang Metal Trading and affiliates will face 4.93 percent; Fine Metal Technologies and affiliates will pay 8.41 percent. Other suppliers will be subject to 4.93 percent.
