Culture ministry hosts 2026 Clean Sport youth camp in Busan
The culture ministry will bring 60 young athletes and coaches from seven Asian countries to Busan for anti-doping education, cultural exchange and mentoring.
The culture ministry said Wednesday it will hold the 2026 Clean Sport Youth Camp in Busan with 60 young athletes and coaches receiving anti-doping education and cultural-exchange activities.
The event runs from Aug. 19 to 22 at Pukyong National University's Daeyeon Campus. It follows the 2025 World Anti-Doping Agency, or WADA, General Assembly in Busan, the first held in Asia. Kang Dae-geum, sports cooperation director at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said, "This camp is an important event that carries forward the successful legacy of the Busan conference."
The camp is organized with the Korea Anti-Doping Agency, or KADA, and Busan city. Participants are from Korea, Bhutan, Cambodia, Laos, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Kuwait. They will receive lecture-based and hands-on anti-doping education, including a visit to a mobile doping-control room to learn testing procedures and athletes' responsibilities. Students will also create anti-doping messages and short videos, which KADA will post on its social media channels. The team whose content receives the most likes will receive an award.
The program also includes a Busan tour and K-pop dance lessons. On Aug. 22, Kenyan rugby player Humphrey Kayange, bobsledder Won Yun-jong and KADA athlete commissioners will hold a talk concert and small-group mentoring sessions on careers, self-management and recovering from injuries.
At the camp's close, students will be formally appointed Clean Sport Supporters and tasked with sharing anti-doping awareness in their schools and communities.
